No Christian Education Hour
Sunday School and Adult Forum will not meet on Palm Sunday (March 16) or Easter Day (March 23) but will resume on the 30th.
March 29-30
First Communion
In preparation for taking first communion at the 10:30 service on March 30, students in grades 1-5 mustr attend two instruction sessions:
On Saturday, March 29, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Children will make communion bread and learn how sacristans prepare for communion each week.
From 9:30-10:15 on Sunday, March 30 Pastor Brad will meet with the
children to practice the communion liturgy.

Youth
Sunday School
Sunday School for children 3 years-8th Grade meets in the Sunday School wing at 9:15 a.m., between Sunday services.
Confirmation
Students in grades 7-9 attend confirmation classes on Wednesday evenings. Students and catechists meet at 5:30 and eat "sack suppers" together. Confirmands lead Evening Prayer at 6:00 and then go to their classrooms for instruction. Topics covered in confirmation include an overview of the Bible, The Lord's Prayer, the Apostles' Creed, and the sacraments of baptism and communion. Confirmation retreats are also held periodically. The program culminates in the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism on the last Sunday in April.
Youth Groups
The Middle School Youth Organization (MSYO) and High School Youth Organization (HSYO) meet monthly for learning and fun.
Adults
Adult Forum
Adults meet at 9:15 during the Christian Education Hour to hear presentations by experts and to discuss how what they learn applies to them as Christians. This spring's theme will be "Health and Healing for a World in Need" and will cover topics, such as mission, navigating the American healthcare system, fair trade philosophy, and the Lutheran Office of Public Policy.
Theological Conferences
Luther Memorial has held two conferences in the past few years: one on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer in 2006 and one on "Christians and the Use of Violence" in February 2008. Nationally recognized speakers lecture and lead discussions as well as participate in worship. Future conferences are being planned.
