A Bit About Me

I am an American, who loves reading, hearing and discussing interesting and well thought out ideas, even if I disagree with them deeply on an intuitive level. Who respects people on the basis of their honesty and personal decency towards others, even if I strongly oppose their political, social and religious views-points. And, who is willing to live-and-let-live with anyone willing to respect the rights of others as stated and implicit in our constitution and the traditions from which it was derived – including the right of persons to be free from the threat posed by criminals and all those who would use violence or the threat of violence to force political or social change upon us or other nations who are governed with an active regard for similar principles however derived.

Reading: History, Ethics, Faith, Science, Politics, and Good Fiction: including good SF, and Mysteries, as well as Standard Fiction
Writing: Essays and Poetry
Fitness
Discussion and Correspondence: with smart, civil people about all and any of the above, with family and friends about anything on their minds or mine.
